“Just to let you know that my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole afternoon. I asked her what she liked best, and she could not pinpoint one particular item; as all three sessions were enjoyed by both of us for different reasons. The variety and mix was spot on. Many thanks for all your hard work.”

A very happy mum.

Immediately after our inaugural three day Inspiring Females conference, we were struck by a number of comments from mums of girls who had been involved, who said how they wished they could have had such an opportunity.

We also noted how many girls cited their own mums as their main source of inspiration. Following this feedback, we were delighted to create this tailored event for both mums and daughters, building on the spirit of the first conference and providing a taste of what we offer the girls through Inspiring Females.

Headmistress Kirsty von Malaisé opened the event, sharing stories about her mother, as well as anecdotes about the many different types of mum. This then led into a panel and networking session discussing the joys and challenges of motherhood (and daughterhood!), hosted by a panel of 7 guests who had once again volunteered their time to be with us.

One of our steering group girls even gained the confidence to sit on the panel!

Following this, mums and daughters split into smaller groups for three consecutive workshops with a range of content.

Workshops included:

  • Emotional Buoyancy
  • The needs of a mum and a daughter
  • Mother’s day creative writing memento
  • Top Tips on making your passion your profession… and
  • have time to be a Mum!
  • Forrest Yoga
  • Laughter yoga
  • Meditation

At the end of the event, all mums received a personalised goody bag to take home and have since received framed photos taken during their afternoon tea at the end of the event.

“Thank you for an excellent, fun loving event. We all really enjoyed it. I look forward to it again for next year.”

Another very happy mum
