Lucy Payne

Security Awareness and Culture Lead

People can be both a company’s biggest security asset and its weakness, depending on your staff’s security mind-set. Lucy’s day to day role is about changing Aviva’s security culture: this involves changing peoples’ mind-set and behaviour towards security, making them understand why being secure offline and online is incredibly important to them and Aviva.

“I came from an artsy family but was always interested in tech. I was the first in my family to want a Nintendo Gameboy, and had an equal foot in arts and sciences in school. I studied Languages at university but have so far worked with tech companies, in roles that are focused on people. I think I am where I am now because of my background - I know the tech, but equally can ‘translate’ it so those who aren’t technical can understand it!”
