Advanced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, NHS
After her A Levels, Miriam took a gap year, travelling and working in Australia. She later studied Psychology at university, before deciding to pursue a career in Speech and Language Therapy. She now specialises in working with adults who have recently suffered from strokes, to rehabilitate their communication and ability to swallow. Miriam believes in staying curious about your career options until you find something you are passionate about. She is inspired by Professor Pamela Enderby, who challenged the NHS to offer equal pay to Speech and Language Therapists (which is a predominantly female profession).
“My dream is work abroad in countries where speech and language therapy is less established.”
