Director of Operations, Earlham Institute
Sarah is responsible for the service delivery operations at the Earlham Institute – including genomic laboratories, scientific training, communication and building relationships within the industry, as well as development projects that improve the Institute’s facilities and ways of working.
When it came to university, Sarah had a choice: marine biology or accountancy. Though she chose the latter, she never lost her love of science! Sarah is fascinated by our world – and feels lucky to be able to work with groups of researchers who explore a variety of things, from the digestive systems of premature babies to genetic differences in plants and animals.
“I know that without my help and support, and that of my non-scientific colleagues, our researchers would not be able to work so effectively and deliver such great science. Working in the right role and in the right organisation is extremely rewarding and makes all the hard work worthwhile!”
